Portfolio Portrait Workshop in Pen, Ink and Watercolor

Limited to 12 students.
Open to ages 13 and up, Portfolio Portrait Workshop in Pen, Ink and Watercolor will focus on helping students create pieces for their college portfolio. Instructor Janet Cook will teach drawing and painting the portrait, using three pens in analogous colors of different values in order to learn how to build up value and form. This workshop offers an integrated approach between pen (Micron pen, Ballpoint), Watercolor, Acrylic, and your chosen surface. Students will work from the live model for 6 hours total.
A demo and lecture with examples will be given at the beginning the day. Whether you are a beginner or advanced artist, individual attention and feedback will be provided to help you reach a new level of understanding of this medium and its capabilities.
A supply list will be provided upon registration.
About Janet Cook
Janet A. Cook currently teaches at the Pastel Society of America, and conducts workshops for the Art Students League in NYC. Recently she also taught workshops in France and at the Southern Utah University.
She studied at the Art Students League and the National Academy of Art and Design and holds a degree in the History of Art from de Montford University, UK. She is represented by Haven Gallery in Northport, NY and Dacia Gallery NYC. She has had several solo exhibitions in the United States and been involved in many group exhibitions, including ‘Women Painting Women’ at the Principle Gallery, NC, and in the Fountain Art Show, Armory, NY. Her work has also been shown in England, France, Germany, and Romania.
