This workshop will cover a method of monochromatic underpainting over which a both transparent and opaque layers of color will be applied.This is an ancient method of painting that can be tracked to both the Northern European and Italian Renaissance artists. It is very effective for painters of all levels for its clarity of procedure and ease of execution. The first day is devoted to executing the figure in grissaille. The second day is devoted to painting, in color, over the grissaille. The third session is devoted to finishing details, both transparent and opaque.
Class size limited to 12 students, to ensure a high quality experience.
