Born in New York, Lori Shorin earned her MFA at the University of Pennsylvania. She taught at the New Hampshire Institute of Art for several years. Her early works were abstract.
In 2005, inspired to create realistic figurative sculptures, she sold her house, pick-up truck and possessions, and moved to Italy for four years to study the human form at the Florence Academy of Art. Currently in the US she is creating compositions influenced by her time in Italy and travels in India. Lori exhibits in the US and Italy, and her works are in the permanent collection of the Mariposa Museum of International Culture (NH).
